Section Fourty-Seven

The inside of the chapel was dark and gloomy, and under construction. As they looked around the chapel, they searched for the Chigi Chapel (a certain part of the whole chapel itself). There were four different recesses, meaning eight chapels, which were all covered with plastic making it harder to figure out which one was the right one, and easier for the Hassassin to hide. Vittoria saw a plaque on the wall which helped them immensely, it read;

COAT OF ARMS OF ALEXANDER CHIGI
WHOSE TOMB IS LOCATED IN THE
SECONDARY LEFT APSE OF THIS CATHEDRAL
They made their way over to the tomb, it was now 8:06, they wondered if the killer was still in there, or if he had been punctual and been in and out already. When they got over to the Chigi tomb, Vittoria realized they were too late. As they looked around the room they gasped as they saw the demon's hole. The top was off of the pit and a terrible stench was coming up from the whole under neath. At first when they looked in the whole it was so dark they could not see anything, so Vittoria went to search for some sort of light. After Vittoria came back with a blow torch. This time when they looked down, as Vittoria held the light, Langdon saw a figure stripped of his clothing, standing up right, and lifeless. They began yelling down to the man, but got no response, so Langdon decided that he would go down and check things out.
