Section Thirty-Three

Vittoria and Langdon now stood outside of the double doors entering into the inner area of the archives. The room was dark, large, and full of glass-walled enclosures. The enclosures were called "hermetic vaults" and they were used to store and preserve the books and scripts within. There were hundreds of books within the archives, and the computer which had the information of where each was had a user password, both of these factors made it very difficult to locate the book that they were looking for. Inside of each glass enclosure, were book shelves, parchment bins, and examination tables. As they looked at the labels on the enclosures, they finally came across the one containing Galileo's work, there was a whole vault filled with his works. Inside of the glass room, they were looking for a book called "Diagramma dela Verita" which meant "Diagram of truth." Langdon was sure that this was the book that held the clue to the first marker on the Path of Illumination. When they got into the vault, it was very hard to breathe and they had limited time to find what they were looking for, they new they had to look fast, for time was not a luxury they had.
